CCA Closing Day 14th April 2007

70 players and spectators met at the Fendalton Club on a fine afternoon to celebrate the end of the season and enjoy friendly games together. Unlike earlier years, a new format was tried this year with games followed by presentations and the fundraising carried out by a raffle. Over $800 dollars was raised through the latter.

All trophies won by players at tournaments during the year were presented - a further break with tradition.

Most played golf croquet mixing freely with anyone they could find from other clubs to play with them.
While the experts looked on or jujst talked quietly about things past, present and future. Here Maude Trainor and Mary Wills are in deep discussion.
Although games were friendly, this did not detract from the skill with which they were pursued.

Some of us just sat quietly enjoying the sunshine...

Marie Thompson and John Tyler demonstrate the watching technique.

John Lorimer and Geoffrey Naylor even managed to fit in a game of Association Croquet

The afternoon concluded with the presentation of awards and trophies.
