Play-offs

The 6 block winners participated in a play-off on 17 and 18 February at the United Croquet Club. The play-offs were held as two blocks of three with winners decided by number of games won followed by count-back.

Rodger Cullen and Nick Taylor won both of their games to take their block, while Jane McIntyre and Magnus McGee were victorious in the other block. In their first game, Jane completed a 12-hoop break with 15 minutes to go to come back from a large deficit, while in their second game Jane and Magnus completed the only peg-out of the playoffs.

The Final

The final of the 2006-7 Johnson Memorial Trophy featured teams with two of the lowest handicapped players in the tournament, Jane McIntyre (partnering Magnus McGee) and Rodger Cullen (partnering Nick Taylor). Rodger and Nick had 2.5 bisques. Rodger took a bisque early and established a 7 hoop lead, and Magnus and Jane had very little of the innings for the rest of the match.
