Beginners' Day

Beginners day is a fun and learning day for new croquet players - either of the Golf or Association persuasions. The activities on this day are determined by the hosting club and usually consist of a series of fun activities involving croquet skills. Club Captains or other experienced players usually accompany their newcomers to this event

Beginners' Day for the 2009-10 season was held at the Holmes Park Croquet Club on Sunday the 22nd November. 12 players from Christchurch Clubs took part this year and enjoyed both the activities organised by Dormer Gardner and the opportunity to meet other newcomers to the game.

Players included:

From Cashmere - Dawn Hansen, Heather Wright, and Shiela McDonagh
From Edgeware - Di Barnes and Maree Higgins
From Kaiapoi - Don Scott and Heather Courtier
From St James Park - Ann Scott, Linda Hastie and Shirley Livingston
From Sumner - Peter and Lyn Cox

Activities and winners:

Hoop Shot - Di Barnes
Hoop-to-peg, Stop shot and 3-hoops-to-peg - Peter Cox
Peg out and Split shot - Don Scott
